Professional Development

Stephen Covey states “the key is not in spending time, but in investing it”. In Center Cass School District 66, we take the use of time seriously. For this reason, professional development in District 66 is used to study, investigate, and apply the instructional shifts necessary for a 21st Century classroom. Each early dismissal is used by teachers to develop rigorous curriculum that requires thorough investigation of best practices in education. Additionally, each month our district focuses on a specific topic related to teaching and learning. All staff members are trained on that topic so that their time during early dismissal is used with their team to research and write quality curriculum. Last year, the District Leadership Team came up with the 2013-2014 theme of Getting to the Core of Teaching and Learning.
