District 66 Welcomes New Superintendent - Dr. Andrew WiseDr. Andrew Wise
At the December 10, 2019 Board of Education Meeting, Center Cass welcomed Dr. Andrew Wise as our new Superintendent. After an in-depth search, the District 66 School Board unanimously agreed that Dr. Wise is the perfect fit for District 66. He is a veteran superintendent with a wide variety of experiences. Dr. Wise will officially begin on July 1, 2020, but you will see him around this winter and spring as he prepares for his transition. Please click here to read his biography. Preschool Screening - February 7, 2020
Center Cass School District 66 will hold an Early Childhood Screening for children ages 3-5 who reside in District 66, on Friday, February 7th at Prairieview School, 699 Plainfield Rd., Downers Grove. The purpose of the screening is to identify students who may need special services prior to entering Kindergarten. Areas to be screened are: speech, language, vision, hearing, and coordination.

To schedule an appointment, please call the Department of Student Services at 630-783-5168 by Friday, January 31, 2020.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), is a great resource for SEL. This month they released a short, eight minute video for parents. It contains both an easy to understand explanation as well as resources on how to support SEL in your home. You can find the video here.

Parent University - March 14, 2020Parent University
Mark your calendars now! Retired Detective Richard Wistocki, Be Sure Consulting, will be back in District 66 to provide parents with the latest cyber safety tricks, warnings, and suggestions. Det. Wistocki was in District 66 during the Winter of 2018 and feedback was positive. You will not want to miss this important presentation!

Parent University will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Prairieview School. Det. Wistocki will start his presentation promptly at 9:00 a.m. All District 66 parents, neighbors, and staff are invited. (Please no children).

On Monday, March 16, 2020, Det. Wistocki will present to students in grades 5-8 on cyber safety. This presentation will occur during school hours.

Winter ChallengeWinter Challenge

Are you looking for a fun and exciting challenge this winter? Well, if we ever get some snow, put your winter gear on and get building with the Winter Challenge! The purpose of the CCSD66 Winter Challenge is to ignite a passion in our students and district residents for reconnecting with nature during the winter months, while also fostering collaboration and strengthening our sense of community! Build anything your heart desires! Take a picture of your creation and email it to one of the teachers listed on the Winter Challenge website or post your creations to #CCSD66WinterChallenge and #ccsd66! A Message from TEAM 66
This holiday season, we have a lot of appreciation to express to our community. Our very first #GivingTuesday was a huge success thanks to all of you! This campaign raised $2,770 for our teacher grants that are awarded each year. We are also excited to see the district's enthusiasm for our next event in partnership with the PTO, Trivia Night. January 24th's Trivia Night is SOLD OUT! We are looking forward to playing with you. The fun will continue with TEAM 66's annual Casino Night on March 14, 2020, so save the date. From everyone at TEAM 66, happy holidays and happy new year!

District Eat Out Fundraiser - January 28, 2020
Our January District Eat Out Fundraiser is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 28th from 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at Roundheads Pizza located at 500 75th Street in Downers Grove. Up to 20% of proceeds will be donated back to our schools. Dine-in or carry-out but please remember to mention this flyer! Thanks for your support of District PTO and TEAM 66!
