Students with disabilities, who do not qualify for an individual education program under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, may qualify for services under Section 504 of the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 if the student (1) has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, (2) has a record of a physical or mental impairment, or (3) is regarded as having a physical or mental impairment. Early Childhood Screenings are held during the school year to identify students who may need special services prior to entering Kindergarten. Areas to be screened include: concepts, speech/language, vision/hearing, & coordination. These screenings are for children ages 3-5 who reside in Center Cass School District #66. Screenings are for children whose parents have concerns.
