Change in Lakeview Athletic Seasons

As a reminder, all students who tryout or participate on a Lakeview athletic team must have a current athletic physical form on file in the office before the day of tryouts. Athletic physicals are good for 395 days from the original date signed by a physician. If you have any questions, please contact Beth Nyhlen, Lakeview Athletic Director, at This information can also be found on the Lakeview website under the Extra Curriculars tab.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

SEL Although the weather isn't acting like spring is here and summer is right around the corner, it is! As a parent, you may be excited to have longer periods of time to spend with your children this summer or you may have some anxiety as well. Both reactions are natural! It is important to remember that before we can take care of others we need to take care of ourselves. Self-care is essential for our well-being. Taking time without devices, embracing the moment by taking a walk, or practicing yoga are all great examples of self-care. Maintaining friendships and doing something that you enjoy (reading a book, gardening) are other examples of self-care.

Also, we encourage you to continue the conversations and explicit teaching with your children of the five SEL Competencies:

  • Self-Management:  Regulating your emotions, self-control
  • Social Awareness: Perspective taking, empathy
  • Relationship Skills:  Communicating clearly, resolving conflict, seeking help
  • Self-Awareness:  Labeling one's feelings, self-efficacy, optimism
  • Responsible Decision-Making:  Consider the well-being of self and others, realistic

Commemorative Bricks for Graduates
Do you have a student who will be graduating this year? It is hard to believe that your student's time at District 66 is coming to an end in just a few short weeks. Would you like the opportunity for him/her to leave a stamp on this part of their history? Consider purchasing an engraved brick in his/her name.

TEAM 66 Education Foundation has installed a commemorative brick path from the sidewalk in front of Prairieview to the Center Cass 66 bell to give families the opportunity to create a remembrance of their positive experience in our school district. The bricks will be engraved with a family name or student name(s) and graduation year(s), or with a message of your choice.

The bricks are available in 4x8x2.25” for $150 or 8x8x2.25” for $250. Each brick can be custom engraved with 3 lines consisting of 13 characters per line. The 8x8x2.25” bricks will also have “TEAM 66 Sponsor” engraved on the brick. To order your brick, please contact TEAM 66 or return the attached order form and payment. You will also receive an invitation to the brick installation event that will be held over the summer.
